Amber Nicholson profile

Amber Nicholson

first came to a CAMEO event over three years ago. She soon made an impression and won the first of multiple CAMEO START awards for promising teen vocalists. Amber took the advice of our panel of qualified judges at Teen Singers Showdown events to heart and took advantage of voice lessons and studio recording time provided to award winners. She began to take regular voice lessons with Liisa Nessim of Stepping Stone Music. She also continued to work with patience and determination to polish her performing skills in every aspect at our regular teen events. Soon, she was appearing at major CAMEO events in theatres and other large venues including Retrofest 2005 where she performed as an opening act for world famous artists. Along the way, Amber was discovered at a CAMEO teen event by Paul Caravetta, a former director of the BC Country Music Association. This led to her present involvement with one of the principal organizers of Mountainfest, Don Adams. These two are now backing her career. Along with a few stints at Mountainfest, our talented teen artist has appeared as an opening act for stars like Johhny Reid and Prairie Oyster. Amber's natural talent, a scintillating stage presence and a lot of hard work seem to have her on the way to major success in the music industry. We are pleased and proud to be part of her success story. For more information, visit her website: ambernicholson.com

Stephanie Lang from Ladysmith, BC won the award for 2005 and has since gone on to become our 2006 Female Vocalist of the Year.
